I'm very pleased to announce that I'm now represented by Lemonade Illustration. I'll post some links once my portfolio is added to their website.
This was done as the first of a series of 'endangered habitat' illustrations.
The Yowie series of books that i co-illustrated (with a few other illustrators working for ZacMedia) are now available in stores. It was nice to finally see them on shelves.
Like i've mentioned before, i always like to try something new when illustrating. I was looking at some eucalyptus trees, and i thought it would be a challenge (for me) to draw them in a stylised way.
This is a mock-up book cover i illustrated, featuring some little bears that i'd done some sketches of.
Sometimes it's just a vague idea i have that leads to what i want to illustrate. I wanted to do something with morning sunlight in the woods, so i sketched a few things until it matched the rough idea in my head.
I read an idea Ivan Reitman had, where he imagined Ghostbusters franchises all over the world. I thought that was a cool idea, so these are my chinese ghostbusters.
This is basically young Ben. When i was a kid i was obsessed with sharks. I would read every shark book, watch every shark documentary, etc.  I probably did several similar drawings to this, way back then.
When i first did this illustration, it was quite different. It didn't have the children, and it looked too static. I scrapped the original idea and turned it into a fun snow fight.
Around Chinese New Year, i really wanted to illustrate something with a chinese dragon in it. It was also a good excuse to get some fire and sparkle effects in there, haha.
This was a ship i designed for a short animation i made for someone. It was very Queen themed.
When i do something like this, i try and make it seem like it's part of a story. What's dragged him out at night to be searching in the woods?

Stranger Things. Originally i had a character in this illustration, but i liked it more with the focus being the lights on the wall.
I did this after seeing Wonder Woman. I strongly relate to her deep love of ice cream.
Just a fun drawing of Baze (from Rogue One) in his guardian robes.
When i was young, i loved any books or tv shows that featured anthropomorphic animals on adventures. This is my little desert rat, looking for whatever it is marked on his map.
These four pieces below were for a Twin Peaks exhibition held at Artboy Gallery in Melbourne. There was a lot of great art on display so I was proud to be part of the exhibition.

The initial sketch plus the start of colouring for the bear detective.
With this i just wanted to try doing something in black and white, and i was very happy with how it turned out.
No description, i just wanted to illustrate something cute.
I like seeing progress images from other artists, so occasionally i'll take screenshots while i'm working on something. Here's some progress images of the Monkey King illustration.
An illustration of the Monkey King, which was a present for my partner. This one was a lot of fun to do, especially all the gold armour.
These are some characters from a story that my partner wrote. The characters in the story were so interesting that i felt compelled to create a visual representation of them.
This was just an excuse to draw a fox in a fantasy setting. Whenever i do a new illustration i try to do something new, even if it's just the way i draw a particular thing. This time i wanted to try and keep the style as simple as possible, and nice and colourful.

This was done last year for Inktober. Just a quick Frank Zappa with some copics
I did this one for Halloween. I've never been trick or treating, but it sure looks fun.
